App Support & FAQ

How do I import music into StrictTempo?

StrictTempo plays your own local audio files (.mp3, .m4a, .wav, .aac, .aiff, .flac).

  1. Tap the Import (+) button in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select individual audio files or entire folders from your device’s Files app, iCloud Drive, or connected storage.
  3. Your music remains stored locally on your device for immediate offline playback.

How do I change between BPM and MPM?

Tap the tempo unit readout in the Now Playing player drawer to toggle between BPM (beats per minute) and MPM (measures/bars per minute). In ballroom dances like Waltz, 1 bar equals 3 beats, so MPM displays the true ballroom dance tempo.

How does the 7-Band Graphic EQ work?

Swipe up the Now Playing player drawer and scroll down to the EQ section. Adjust the 7 vertical frequency faders to boost or cut frequencies (±12 dB). To return to a flat response, tap the Reset button in the EQ header.

How does Apple Watch remote control work?

When StrictTempo is playing on your iPhone, open the StrictTempo companion app on your paired Apple Watch:

  • Rotate the Digital Crown to smoothly increase or decrease playback tempo.
  • Swipe to the Gain page to adjust track loudness.
  • Swipe to the Library page to browse folders, playlists, or dance styles and trigger playback without walking back to your phone.
